ONTOMORPHOGENESIS OF SHRUBBY PAEONIA L. REPRESENTATIVES.

I. P. SUFFRUTICOSA ANDR.

Ontomorphogenesis and vegetative organs anatomy of Paeonia suffruticosa were described. It is a geoxylous shrub. Shrubby building begins on the third year of life, the cotyledone node buds, hidden in soil, wake up first. Shoots of juvenile forms are monopodious, generative plants have sympodial shoots, which are dead on 1/3 - ½ of length after germination. This is the cause of some adult shrub height constancy. Induviate tissue of axial organs is cork. Tuberous roots have typical tree plant structure. Secondary xylem vessel members are short, have scalariform perforation plates with 1— 3 crossbars; in underground organs they are more specialized then in avobe-ground stem, Leaves are mesomorphous with some xeromorphous features. Nodes fivelacunare.
