ROSE UNIQUE (Lins) - Double - Pink. Sister seedling of Tondeleyo with same rugged plant and bloom, but the color is several shades deeper pink. One you will eventually grow. Lins 1955 catalog.

ROSE VALLEY (Scott, 1925) - Jap. - Pink. Large, yellow center surrounded by pink, cupped shaped collar. Strong grower. Bulletin 25.

ROSINE (Lemoine, 1913) - Double - Light Pink - Late Midseason. Medium height. Rose-like fragrance. Large. Large guard petals, incurved at first, relaxing later, about a globular, incurved center which is surrounded by whorls of large petals, each incurved upon its own center; clear, bright rose-pink, a trifle lighter in the collar and deep in the center when fully opened. M.

ROSSINI (Kelway) - Double - Rose - Midseason.

ROSY CHEEK (Saunders, 1943) - Semi-Double - Rose - Hybrid. Upright. Slightly semi-double. Very special color; deepest rose at base of petals, growing light towards the tips. Albiflora x lobata. Bulletin Lists 91 and 129.

ROSY DAWN (Barr) - Single - White - Early. Medium height. No fragrance. Large. White, tinged with pale pink at first; free-flowering; strong stems. Dark green foliage. "A distinct variety as it has a bushy form. The stems are strong but some are semi-recumbent so that the plant is clothed to ground." Thurlow. M.

ROSY DAWN (Pleas) - Double - Rose - DISCARDED - Midseason.

ROSY GLOW (Glasscock, 1928) - Single - Pink - Early Midseason. Slight fragrance. Light violet rose. Small round bunch of yellow stamens. Saucer shaped bloom. Very long, stiff stems Foliage broad, dark green. Bulletin 35.

ROSY RAPTURE (Kelway) - Double - Rose - Midseason.

ROSY RIM (Franklin) - Double - White - Late. Tall. The famous 1001 seedling. A large late white on tall, strong stems. It has a tendency to remain cup shaped for some time showing the rosy colored guard petals around its perimeter. Franklin 1955 catalog.

ROSY WREATH (Saunders, 1941) - Single - Pink - Hybrid. Single cup of clear, even, rose pink. Crepe paper texture. Albiflora x officinalis. Lists in Bulletins 91 and 129. Saunders 1955 catalog.

ROTARIAN (Franklin, 1928) - Double - Pink. Fragrant. Very large, rose type, large pink. Strong stems. Bulletin 35.

ROWENA (Lewis, 1922) - Double - Lilac Pink - Midseason.

ROXANA (Auten-Lake, 1946) - Single - Pink-Red - Very Early - Hybrid. Below medium height. Probably fragrant. Brilliant pink-red. Growth vigorous. Brilliant garden effect. Blossoms larger than those of Smouthi, but similar. Albiflora RICHARD CARVEL x tenuifolia simplex. Bulletin 101.

ROY ROBINSON (Winchell, 1941) - Double - Dark Pink - Midseason. Color between red and pink. Good stems. Bulletin 83.

ROYAL RED (Auten, 1956) - Single - Red - Early - Hybrid. A rich dark red single with two rows of petals. The color holds. Trim bloom, nicely cupped, medium size. Officinalis x albiflora. Letter from Mr. Auten, April, 1956. Auten's 1956 catalog.

ROY W. GOODARD (Brand, 1936) - Double - Pink - Midseason. Large delicate lavender pink. Long narrow petals. Flat flowers. Distinct and good. Lists in Bulletins 91 and 130.

R. P. WHITFIELD (Richardson, 1904) - Double - Pink - Late. Tall. Fair rose fragrance. Large. Pale, rose-pink with pale flesh-pink edges, toning to cream white in the center; floriferous; strong stems. Dark, narrow foliage. A flower of much beauty, having luminous glow in the center, but the buds often water log badly. It blooms in clusters. M.

RUBAIYAT (Berneche, 1939) - Single - Red. Very deep red, excellent. List in Bulletin 91.

RUBENS (Delache, 1854) - Double - Crimson - DISCARDED - Midseason.

RUBENS (Origin unknown) - Single - Red - Midseason.

RUBICON (Lemoine, 1929) - Double - Pink - Midseason. Dwarf in height. Dwarf in habit with good stems, deep rose pink with paler edges and blooming in trusses, excellent growth, this makes a landscape variety of much value. List in Bulletin 60.

RUBIE BATTEY (Auten, 1933) - Jap. - Red - Late. Tall. An extremely rich dark red Jap, the yellow lines and dots on center petaloids very scant. Medium sized bloom. Stiff stems. Exceptional substance and lasting quality. Named for daughter of Mr. P. L. Battey of Northbrook Gardens. Bulletin 54.

RUBIO (Nicholls, 1941) - Double - Red - Midseason. Tall. Fully double with wide petals. Large deep red. Grows and blooms well. Produces lovely flowers in Sarcoxie. -Wild catalog. Bulletin 83.

RUBRA GRANDIFLORA (Origin unknown) Possibly GRANDIFLORA RUBRA. Midseason.

RUBRA SUPERBA (Richardson, 1871) - Double - Red - DISCARDED. 1961 Wild catalog: Very late, rich brilliant crimson shading to violet, very large and double. M.

RUBRA TRIUMPHANS (Delache, 1854) - Double - DISCARDED. 1906 Wild catalog: Early to midseason, brilliant crimson; semi-double. M.
