ILLINI WARRIOR (Glasscock-Falk, 1955) - Single - Red - Early. Very tall. Brilliant red. Rugged plant. Parentage unknown. Hybrid seedling. Shown by Mrs. Falk among her hybrids. See Bulletin 135, page 6. Bulletin 138.

ILLUSTRIOUS (Brown, 1952) - Double - Pink. Height 40". A very fine medium pink. The strong stems hold the large flowers erect and well above the foliage in all kinds of weather. Very free flowering and long lasting. Brown's Peony Gardens - 1955.

INCA DEITY (McMurry, 1937) - Semi-Double - White - Early. Medium height. Pure white guard petals with a center of pollen bearing stamens and occasional white feathers or plumes in the flower. It blooms early and the flower is large. It lasts well as a cut flower. The foliage is light green, medium sized, stems strong. Bulletin 127.

INDIANA MOON (Rosenfield, 1933) - Double - Pink. Tall. Bomb type, perfect form. Clear pink. Upright and excellent bloomer. Bulletin 56 - List 91.

INDIAN MAID (Dana, 1926) - Red - Midseason to Late. Fragrant. A deep shade of red. Exquisite in bud, stiff stems and fine habit. Flower not large but very distinctive. The shade of red is peculiar, has a tint of bright mahogany. New in peony coloring. Bulletin 28.

IN MEMORIAM (Brethour, 1923) - Double - Pink - Midseason. Very pleasant perfume. Large flower, flesh fading to opalescent pink with a wide ring of red surrounding the center. Very strong grower in big clusters. Excellent cut variety. Bulletin 37 - List in 91.

INNOCENCE (Hollis, 1904) - Jap. - Pink - Late Midseason. Tall. Poor fragrance. Medium size. Light old-rose guards, center canary-yellow fading to creamy white. Free-flowering; good stems and foliage. Good for garden decoration because of its strong stems and the well-contrasted colors of its flowers, although it is not very distinct. M.

INSPECTEUR LAVERGNE (Doriat, 1924) - Double - Red - Midseason to late midseason. Long stems. Globular crimson flower with frilled petals in the center. Straight stems. A very brilliant red with some brown in it, that resembles FELIX CROUSSE in form and habit. List in Bulletin 60. M. says early. Mr. Wild says M to LM.

IRWIN ALTMAN (Kelsey, 1940) - Double - Red - Midseason. Very fragrant. A very fine, clear glowing light red unlike any other red. Good form and pleasing color, full double with petals symmetrically arranged. Color is very distinctive in formation and most desirable List in Bulletin 109.
