MARILYN JONES (Zlatana J. Draskovich), Gary, Indiana, June 13, 1995. Seedling #101. Parentage: Leda x Shima Daijin. First bloomed 1993. This tree peony is a deep mauve purple, heavy damask rose fragrance, deeply ruffled petals on a 6-inch bloom. Double to semi-double flower. Height 4 ft., with good stem strength, some bloom are hidden by the luscious foliage. It has pollen and seeds. A most reliable plant. Named in honor of my good friend, Marilyn Jones. Photo on file. MURAD of HERSHEY BAR (William Gratwick), Nov. 11, 1986. Parentage, Choni x Dark of the Moon. Single Moutan tree peony. First year bloomed 1978. Dark maroon on strong medium green stems and foliage, very early, 5 ft. height, reliable and consistent. Bulletin #261.

MYSTIC MOOD (Bill Seidl, Manitowoc, Wisconsin), July 9, 1996. Seedling #SH-97. parentage (SH-11: Daphnis 223 x Chinese Dragon) x Golden Era. First bloomed 1989 as a four-year-old seedling. Hybrid tree peony, cream overlaid red violet, single, with stamens, pollen and seeds. Also fragrant. 1-2 buds per stem, the petals are a pale cream base overlaid red violet sheath, cream stigma. Single, 10-14 petals. Blossoms are carried well. Dependable, bloomed the best of any hybrid tree peony with 50% moutan ancestry after the 1996 Winter of -28°F. Clump size is 36" high x 40" wide. Fertile both ways.

NIKE (the goddess of victory), Nassos Daphnis, New York, September 25, 1987. Seedling #D-368, single hybrid tree peony. Parentage BC2 x Guardian of the Monastery (Moutan). First bloomed 1976. This coral peach flower with two rows of well-formed round petals has a golden glow. It has red flares and yellow anthers. The flower stands well above the foliage on very strong stems. An excellent bloomer. A ten-year-old plant is about five feet in height. The flower has pollen, seeds, and stamens. Fragrant. It blooms in late May. Bulletin #264.

OLD ROSE DANDY (Chris Laning), Sept. 1993. No seedling number. This is a lutea hybrid - parentage P. lutea pollenated by a purple double flower, pollen of suffruticosa seedling. This plant is very big and robust of dark green color. The flowers are very heavy double of old rose color which intensifies (darkens) with age (unusual color). It drew a very good response at the 1993 Show and received an Award of Merit. Bulletin #287. Sept., 1993.

OLIVIA ANNE (Marcia J. Stanton), 6626 McKibben Road, Delton, Michigan 49046, June 23, 1995. Seedling #88-1. First bloomed 1992. Parentage: Pink Dragon x unknown. This deep pink semi-double tree peony has good substance, with stamens, pollen and seeds. Very reliable. Ten blooms on the plant in 1995, and they measured 9" across. The flower is ruffled, pink filaments and deep maroon carpels. The stem strength is very good, a compact bush 36 inches in height, with deep green foliage. A good reliable plant. Bulletin #295.

OREAD (Mountain Nymph) (Nassos Daphnis), 462 West Broadway, New York, NY, June 25, 1996. Seedling #D-345. Parentage D-404 x J-31 (Gessekai) Generation BC 2. First bloomed 1928, semi-double, pale pink hybrid tree peony with stamens and pollen. No seeds. Good substance, reliable, one bud per stem. Grows 4-5 feet, good stem strength, 10 to 20 blooms. Vigorous with light green foliage, blooms the end of May. We have been observing this plant for about 10-15 years. It is worthy of being introduced. The color is almost white with red overcast and red flares, in the center. Two rows of petals orderly arranged. One feels the mountain breeze and a warm feeling. Photo on file.
