PEACHY ROSE (Origin unknown), introduced by Louis Smimow, 1974 catalog. Double hybrid, bi-color peach to pink, to white. Several flowers of different hue on the plant, at one time, mid-season bloom, good foliage. 30-inch strong stems. Registered July 27, 1996.

(The registered name Pehrson's Big Leaf Violet has been changed to PEHRSON'S VIOLET FRISBEE).

PEHRSON'S VIOLET FRISBEE (E. L. [Roy] Pehrson), registered by Don Hollingsworth, 1996. E. L. Pehrson sent plant to Laning before 1977, then sent on to Hollingsworth. Hollingsworth seedling #1337. Parentage given as Lacti Vista x Archangel. This plant is fertile. Light violet or lilac purple RHS, 74C cyclamen purple to 70, lilac purple. Early herbaceous hybrid, fragrant, big single. Early midseason, big leaflets, big petals, and stiff stems. 32 inches in height, vigorous. Bloomed before 1977. Reliable - season-long durability of bush.

PEPPERMINT PATTI (Krekler-Roy Klehm), June, 1994. Semi-double lactiflora, white with red streaks and flares. Flat form, stamens, pollen, seeds, slightly fragrant. Excellent reliability. Beautifully twisted and fluted white petals with unusual red streaks, splotches and flares. Some light green flaring, also. Nicely contrasting red topped stigmas compliment the color of the flares. Very unique flower form. Good stem strength, 30" in height. Early, good, healthy green foliage. Bulletin #291.

PEPPERMINT SWIRL (Bill Seidl), 732 So. 19th St., Manitowoc, Wisconsin 54220, July 9, 1996. Seedling #CSRS-1. Parentage Candy Stripe x Rose Shaylor. First year bloomed 1991. Double blush, stamens, pollen, no seeds, fragrant, 3-4 buds per stem, reliable, abundant amount of bloom with flowers 5-6 inches in diameter. Excellent stem strength, 36-40 inches tall, 36" wide, blooms in mid-season, vigorous with good foliage. White stippled light pink, heavier on central petals giving an overall blush appearance, some red striping on outer petals, repeated on inner ones. Very double (no carpels) but has interspersed stamens. Excellent stem strength inherited from its pollen parent.

PEPPERMINT TWIST (Roy G. Klehm), Klehm Nursery, June, 1995. Seedling #KR47-55. Raspberry pink lactiflora. White base with peppermint raspberry streaking. Twisted and fluted flower petals, matching pistils. 41/2"-wide bloom. Good substance, also stem strength. 30" in height, early bloom, good foliage. Has pollen, seeds and fragrant. 3 buds per stem. Bulletin #295.

PETITE ELEGANCE (Roy G. Klehm), Klehm Nursery, June, 1995. Seedling #KR47-24. Pink semi-double lactiflora. Soft delicate pink with ivory/cream inner glow at center of blossom and lower petals. Some raspberry streaking especially on outer edge of guard petals. Light speckling, almost delicate picotee effect. 41/2"-wide bloom, zero side buds. 24" in height with good stem strength. Early bloom. Bulletin #295.

PETTICOAT PARADE (Roy G. Klehm), June 8, 1989. Seedling # lost. parentage line bred Mons Jules Elie x Charlies White. A delicate soft pink bomb with cream and white overtones. Single to double row of guard petals. First bloomed about 1970. No stamens or pollen. Reliable, fragrant, excellent stem strength, 36 in. height, midseason bloom, deep dark green foliage. Bulletin #271.

Pietertje Vriend WAGENAAR (Nicholas J. Friend), Sunnyside, Washington, May 30, 1996. A chance seedling found near Kansas and Sarah Bernhardt in my commercial planting of peonies. Plant is identical to Kansas, red buds, heavy stems. The bloom has the color of Sarah Bernhardt, perhaps a little lighter. The flower is speckled. The foliage is dark green. Named for my Mother, Pietertje Vriend Wagenaar.
