ALEXANDER FLEMING - Double - Pink. Sweetly scented. This variety is the result of a cross between Bunker Hill and Sarah Bernhardt. Strong stalks, large solferino-rose flowers.

'Alexander Fleming' (syn. 'Dr Alexander Fleming') (Blonk, Nederland, vóór 1950) (P. 'Bunker Hill' x 'Sarah Bernhardt') Bloemen diep zalmroze, gevuld, zwak zoetgeurend, middelvroeg; bladeren lichtbruin met groene basis; hoogte 100 cm; bloem en bladstengels dik en stevig; vertakking redelijk tot goed. Deze kruising behoort tot de beste van het sortiment. In de snijcultuur neemt deze pioen een belangrijke plaats in vooral door de stevigheid van de bloemstelen. De houdbaarheid op water is vijf tot acht dagen, hetgeen goed is. Jammer genoeg blijkt deze plant gevoelig te zijn voor Botrytis.
