In 1909 Mr. Berneche was awarded a silver medal for the best collection of peonies at the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition. In 1914 he sold most of his plants to the Weed Nursery but in 1920 he again entered the Peony business and his present address is Route 6, Box 504, Portland, Oregon.
