Paeonia 4Important Notice to Paeonia subscribers
The next issue (V31, N4) of Pasonia will be the last issue of the newsletter that will be distributed by regular mail. Pasonia will continue to be published only as an on-line newsletter and as such will be available to all free of charge. The website address is www.paeonianewsletter.com or www.paeonia.info Both addresses get you to the same place. If you would like to be on my e-mail list and receive a notice whenever a new issue of the newsletter is published on-line, please send me your e-mail address at paeonianews@aol.com. If you prefer a hard copy of the newsletter to read and save, you can simply print it out on your own printer from the universal pdf file. It will look exactly like the ones you have been receiving through the mail with the exception of the folds. I apologize to those who are not yet on-line and therefore, will be unable to receive the newsletter as a result of this decision.
As a result of this decision, I will no longer accept money for new subscriptions. Those who have recently subscribed or re-subscribed and would like to receive a refund, please send me a note (by regular mail or e-mail) and I will try to return the appropriate amount that is due to you. To everyone else, I will simply apply what remains of your subscription to the considerable costs I have incurred in building the Pasonia website. Thank you all for your continued support.
There are a number of reasons that have prompted this decision. First, it has become increasingly difficult to keep up with the tasks of publishing a quarterly mailed-out newsletter, (especially stuffing and stamping envelopes, etc.). More importantly, however, is the very high cost of color copying. Increasingly, it is my strong desire to include more and more color photos showing the results of my own and others hybridizing efforts. However, it is simply much too expensive to make color copies on a regular basis and "publishing" these pictures in black-and-white is very unsatisfying. In addition, it is my perception that nearly everyone, at this point, is on-line and therefore, switching to an on-line service would not pose a problem to the vast majority of Pasonia's readers. This being said, if you are one of the few who will be cut-off by this decision, send me a note and I will try to send your copy by regular mail for as long as I can.
