Albiflora X Decora and Decora Alba

Decora and its white form are closely related to officinalis, and are by some considered to be botanical varieties or forms of it. Plants and seeds reached Clinton from nurseries in Europe in the years 1924-1928. Decora is described as a "magnificent blood purple on quite a tall stem. Used pollen in many crosses, 1929." One hybrid, the very early dark single red. Reward, was introduced.

Decora alba blooms very early in spring. A great many crosses were made and two hybrids introduced, of which one is Camellia, a lovely double white rosette with palest peach blush at the base of the petals.
