Reddish-purple Flowers

These are arranged in order from deep to light and pale colours. Towards the end of this group flowers of Niigata Akashigata and those following it open pale pink and pass to nearly white with age. Haruno-akehono near the end of this group and Kenshunmon which is classified in the white group, are nearly similar.

Kansai Otomenomai

Large size. Stigmas and sheath reddish purple. Midseason.

Shogun

Large size. Outer petals round, not waved, giving Ihe bloom a rounded shape Leaflets rather large.

Teikan

Large size. When the blooms are fully developed, the inner petals sland up raising the centre of the flower. Midseason.

Shima-musume

Large size. Reddish purple stigmas. Green exposed ovaries. Midsedson. Purplish line on the leafstalk is inconspicuous.
