Peonies, The Manual of the American Peony Society, edited by James Boyd © 1928 American Peony Society: [Descriptive List of Chinese Peonies]: PETER PAN. (Hollis, 1907.) 8.6. Double type; large; late. Irregularly cupped flowers of bright old-rose, opening flat, showing a fluffy center of yellow stamens mixed with long, shaggy petals, a few of which are edged red; moderate rose fragrance. Average height; floriferous; stiff, wiry stems. Foliage small and glossy. A ragged flower of the Suzette type, with a duller color and less finish. The open flower is informal and graceful, but the early stages are disappointing. |
