Bai Yuan Hong Xia. Crown form. Flowers 16cm x 8cm, purplish red (60-B); the outer petals 3- 4-whorled, large, stiff, suffused with deep purplish red at the base; the inner petals sparse, long, wrinkled, a few stamens grow among the petals; pistils small or developed, petaloid, greenish coloured. Stalks long, stiff, flowers upright. Flowering midseason. Plant tall, erect. Branches stiff. Leaves long, medium-sized, stiff, fairly crowded; leaflets long ovate, apex acute. Growth vigorous; flowers many, bright-colour; tolerant of low temperature during bud stage. Bred by Heze Flower Garden in 1972.

Magenta red, crown shaped, dark red at base, the outer circles of petals are larger, the inner circles smaller and ruffled, flower size 6" with dense fragrance; plant height to 7 feet; a strong plant producing an abundance of flowers; flower buds tolerate low temperatures.
