ALICE IN WONDERLAND (David Reath, Vulcan, Michigan), March 1988. Tree peony, first bloomed 1980. Seedling #A-225. Parentage Alice Harding x Golden Era. Nearly full double with thirty petals. Bright yellow with reddish maroon flares. Petals are of heavy substance. 36" in height with strong stems. Good color from Alice Harding and strong stems from Golden Era, wide leaves, deep green foliage. Pod and pollen fertile. Produces excellent seedlings. Strongly recommended for Itoh type hybrid. ALICE IN WONDERLAND (1988) - Tree, yellow with deep red flares, nearly full double.

Alice in Wonderland. Reath. 1988. Advanced generation lutea hybrid. (Alice Harding x Golden Era). Semi-double with thirty petals. Bright yellow with reddish maroon flares. Petals are of heavy substance. 36" in height, but the large flowers generally hang down and some support makes a better looking plant. Good color from Alice Harding and vigor from Golden Era. Large deep green leaves. Plants often lose stems in cold winters, but are quickly replaced from ground shoots. Fertile both ways. In high demand and short supply.
