Xiu Tao Hua. Crown proliferate form. Flowers 18cm x 6cm, pinkish red faintly bluish (73-B), later lighter colour at the apex. The outer petals 3-4-whorled, thick, flat, with conspicuous streaks, the inner petals small, wrinkled, normal or some petaloid filaments bearing anthers are present, pistils small or short in the lower flower. Petals fairly large, stamens a few, pistils small in the upper flower. Stalks fairly long, flowers lateral. Flowering midseason. Plant medium height, partially spreading. Branches fairly stout. Leaves long, medium-sized, fairly crowded; leaflets long ovate, acuminate at the apex, the margins slightly curved upwards; upper surface green, suffused with purple. Growth vigorous; flowers many; tolerant of leaf spot, leaves falling late. Bred by Zhaolou Peony Garden, Heze in 1969. |
