AMERICA(Nathan Rudolph, Aurora, Illinois 1976. 60-62)— Hybrid, single, parentage Burma Ruby x unknown. First bloomed 1960. Early. Fiery red red flower, tulip like cupped buds, ruffled flower petals. Has pollen and stamens, no seeds. Blooms are 30% larger than Burma Ruby, 28" height. Exceptionally strong stems. 8-10 blooms on a three-year-old plant. Clean green foliage, center of flower, pure yellow.

gesehen in BG Christiansberg, 2007. Riesige, schrill rote Blüten von trotzdem beeindruckender Eleganz. Ziemlich selten, daß mir ein Farbton wie dieser gefällt. Kein Duft. Dafür stehen sie aber sehr gut.
AMERICA Rudolph (USA), 1976 Hybride - (Paeonia lactiflora x P. officinalis ‘Sunbeam’) x onbekend De enkele bloemen van deze bijzondere cultivar zijn helderrood. De bloembladen groeien zeer groots uit naarmate de bloei vordert. Het relatief kleine hart van goudgele meeldraden geeft een prachtig contrasterend effect. Deze opvallende pioen heeft zeer dikke stelen. In combinatie met haar grote bloemen en bloeirijkheid heeft ze een robuuste uitstraling. Een echte liefhebbersplant met een fantastische planthabitat. Bekroond met de APS Gold Medal in 1992.
