Paeonia 'Hong Yu'

Heze Flower Garden in 1976.

Hong Yu. Rose form . Flowers 18cm x 6cm, bright purplish red (60-B); the outer petals 2-whorled, large, stiff, deep purplish red basal blotches; the inner petals sparse, soft, narrowly long, rugose; stamens a few, partially petaloid, pistils developed, petaloid, greenish coloured. Stalks long. Flowers upright or lateral. Flowering late. Plant medium height, partially spreading. Branches stiff. Leaves orbicular, medium-sized, stiff, thin; leaflets ovate, acute at the apex, the margins curved upwards. Growth vigorous; flowers many; tolerant of low temperature during bud stage. Bred by Heze Flower Garden in 1976.
