Xiang Yang Da Hong. Crown form. Flowers 19cm x 7cm, red (44-D); the outer petals 2-whorled, broad and large, with translucent streaks, suffused with deep purple at the base; the inner petals wrinkled, a few stamens grow among the petals; pistils small. Stalks long, slightly pliable, flowers lateral. Flowering midseason. Plant dwarf, spreading. Branches stiff. Leaves long, medium-sized, thick, stiff; leaflets long ovate, apex acute, the margins curved upwards. Growth weak, flowers many. Classic variety, allegedly originated from Xiangyang, Hubei province. |
