ROBERT W. AUTEN (Auten, 1948) - Semi-Double - Red - Hybrid. Tall. A large high built semi-double, with stamens hidden. Very dark red, entirely free from purple; fine substance. Stiff stems. A most outstanding double hybrid and one of unbelieveable beauty. Officinalis x albiflora. List in Bulletin 129 - Wild catalog.
ROBERT W. AUTEN (E) (Auten) A large, very dark red high built semi-double with stamens hidden and no trace of purple in the coloration; excellent substance and tall, stiff stems about 30" tall; described in the APS Register as a peony of unbelievable beauty;
