Sevald:

LADDIE (Glasscock, 1941) Hybrid, bright red single, very early. A dwarf plant, 12 to 18 inches, this makes a fine rock garden plant. Parentage, Paeonia officinalis Otto Froebel X Paeonia tenuifolia (single fem-leaf peony), gave this variety a narrow, cut-leaf foliage which is midway between its two parents

Laddie (Glasscock, 1941) Red, single, very early, 12"-18" tall, hybrid. The finely cut leaves and dwarf stature of this plant are a result of a cross between P. officinalis and P. tenuifolia (single fern-leaf peony).
