Cang Jiao. Crown form, sometimes anemone form occurs. Flowers 16cm x 7cm, light red (52-D), soft; the outer petals 3- whorled, thin, usually toothed, suffused with purplish red at the base; the inner petals wrinkled, fairly sparse, some petaloid filaments bearing anthers are present; pistils developed, petaloid, yellowish green. Stalks very short, flowers hidden among leaves. Flowering midseason. Plant medium to dwarf, partially spreading. Branches stout. Leaves orbicular, large-sized, thick; leaflets ovate, apex acute, upper surface rough, deep green, suffused purple on the margins. Growth vigorous, flowers many. Bred by Zhaolou Peony Garden, Heze in 1968. |
