23.07.2002 2 sehr eigentümliche Pflanzen: 1) fand ich unter dem Namen P. turcica, was mir sehr zweifelhaft erscheint, die zweite wurde von eine allseits bekannten Quelle aus China als 'Delavayi' geliefert. Two very strange peonies: 1) is labeled as P. turcica, but very doubtful to me, 2) was delivered from China as P. delavayi, surely something else.

21.07.2002 Wer frißt meine P. japonica an?? Plötzlich wurde die Pflanze welk, ohne oberirdischen Grund: Das sind die Fraßstellen! What eats my P. japonica?? Suddenly it was weak, no visible reason above surface – these are the suburbian signs!

17.07.2002 Alles eine Spezies?? Ist das alles P.peregrina? Alle diese Pflanzen sind als Synonyme von P. peregrina bekannt, alle haben die selbe typische Blütenform, aber vollkommen unterschiedliches Laub! Is this all the same species?? All these plants below are taxonomically synonymes of P. peregrina and all these plants have flowers of the typical form and color, and are in this regard identical.

17.07.2002 Unter den Bildern von Peter Ries ist eine sehr breitlaubige Form von P. mascula, die ich nich einordnen kann: Was ist das und wer weiß, welche natürliche Herkunft diese Pflanze hat. (Pter hat sie als Arietina von Wetzel) Sie blüht als erste und ich habe auch eine mit solchem Laub aus dem BG Jena. Among the pictures from Peter Ries is a very strange mascula, which I am unable to give a sure name. He bought it as P. arietina, but it has totally different leaves to my 'Northern Glory'. It is his first peony to flower. Who knows more about this plant, where it grows naturally?

Diese große Zahl von verschiedenen Pflanzen erlaubt einen Einblick in die Variabilität der Sämlinge dieser Spezies.
