Double type; large; early midseason. Very dark crimson petals with a blackish sheen mingled with yellow stamens; not fragrant. Tall; free-flowering; strong stems. Dark foliage.

A loose, big-petaled flower of value for garden decoration because of the excellent habit of the plant.

"Blooms early and lasts well without burning."—Little. "Erect, tall, strong grower."—Boyd.

Turner' (Shaylor, U.S.A., 1916) Bloemen donkerrood, gevuld; meeldraden zichtbaar (hier en daar tussen de tepalen), geel; bladeren donkergroen, stelen aan de bovenzijde lilabruin; hoogte 80 cm; bloemstengels stevig; vertakking goed. Door de onregelmatige, maar toch goede habitus en de opvallend donkere bloemkleur is deze cultivar zeer geschikt voor de tuin. De plant is weliswaar licht gevoelig voor Botrytis, maar de goede eigenschappen rechtvaardigen een positieve waardering.
